Full Ransom scores upset victory in Crosby at Del Mar

DEL MAR, Calif. (AP) Full Ransom recorded a 1 1/4-length victory at 17-1 odds in the $82,900 Kathryn Crosby Stakes for older fillies and mares Saturday at Del Mar.

Ridden by Santiago Gonzalez, Full Ransom ran 1 1/16 miles on turf in 1:41.72 and paid $36.60, $14.80 and $4.80.

Chaulk O Lattey returned $4.60 and $2.80 as the 5-2 favorite, while Beat of the Drum was another half-length back in third and paid $3 to show.

The victory, worth $46,740, increased Full Ransom's career earnings to $228,740, with four wins in 15 starts for trainer James Cassidy.

The race is named for the widow of the late singer Bing Crosby, who founded Del Mar.
