DEL MAR, Calif. (AP) Solid Wager rallied from last place turning into the stretch to win the $100,000 Cary Grant Stakes by a half-length Sunday at Del Mar.

Ridden by Joe Talamo, Solid Wager ran seven furlongs in 1:22.23 and paid $20, $6.60 and $4.60 at 9-1 odds.

Raised a Secret returned $11.40 and $6.80 at 13-1 odds, while 18-1 shot Got Even was another half-length back in third and paid $8.40 to show.

Talamo, who took off Friday to get married, inherited the mount on Solid Wager from Victor Espinoza, who called in sick and was excused from his lone mount on the card.

Defending champion Big Macher finished seventh and last.

The victory, worth $57,000, increased Solid Wager's career earnings to $303,606, with six wins in 24 starts for trainer Peter Miller.

Trainer Doug O'Neill saddled his 2,000th career winner when Formally Wild won the second race under Tyler Baze. It was the 12th win in the last 16 days of the meet for O'Neill.
