Saythreehailmary's wins Big A's Bay Ridge Stakes

NEW YORK (AP) Saythreehailmary's got her first stakes victory Saturday, rallying to take the $100,000 Bay Ridge for New York-bred fillies and mares at Aqueduct.

The 4-year-old trained by John Morrison spent most of this season competing in state-bred stakes with modest results. This was her breakthrough, beating 2-1 favorite Sheriffa by 1 1/4 lengths.

Jose Ortiz was aboard for the 1 1/16 miles in 1:45.68.

Saythreehailmary's improved to 5 for 21, paying $11.40, $5.30 and $3.90.

Sheriffa returned $4.60 and $3.30. Storied Lady, winner of this stakes last year, paid $8.20 to show.
