Mirage wins turf feature by a neck at Santa Anita

ARCADIA, Calif. (AP) Mirage rallied to win the $58,000 feature for 3-year-old fillies by a neck Friday at Santa Anita, earning her first U.S. victory.

Ridden by Flavien Prat, Mirage ran a mile on turf in 1:35.87 and paid $10.60, $6.20 and $3.40.

Sheeza Milky Way returned $10.20 and $4.40, while even-money favorite Mokat was another 1 1/2 lengths back in third and paid $2.40 to show.

Trained by Simon Callaghan, Ireland-bred Mirage wore blinkers for the first time to focus her vision.

The victory, worth $34,800, increased Mirage's career earnings to $65,968, with two wins in six starts.
