ARCADIA, Calif. (AP) Race callers from Britain and Singapore are among the four finalists to become the permanent track announcer at Santa Anita.

David Fitzgerald, a presenter and commentator for Racing UK since 2010, will audition at the Arcadia, California, track on Feb. 27-28. He has called the Royal Ascot meets the last two years.

Craig Evans, a senior race broadcaster for the Singapore Turf Club since 2010, will audition on Feb. 20-21.

The other finalists are Frank Mirahmadi and Michael Wrona, who have been calling at Santa Anita on a rotating basis since the winter meet began on Dec. 26.

Track officials said Thursday they received about three dozen applications from nearly every continent.

Trevor Denman, who had announced races at Santa Anita since 1983, retired in December. The South African will still call races at Del Mar near San Diego during that track's shorter summer meet.
