NEW YORK (AP) Alex the Terror changed tactics Thursday, coming off the pace to win the $75,000 allowance feature at Aqueduct.

Instead of racing on, or very close, to the lead, Alex the Terror rallied from fifth in the lane to beat Nubin Ridge by 1 1/4 lengths in 1:11.36 for the six furlongs.

The 4-year-old trained by John Toscano Jr. and ridden by Gabriel Saez got his fifth win in 17 starts.

Alex the Terror paid $13, $6.90 and $3.70.

Nubin Ridge returned $6.90 and $3.60. Mewannarose paid $2.70 to show.
