Daisy Cutter takes Aqueduct feature by a head

NEW YORK (AP) Daisy Cutter edged Literata by a head Friday in the $59,000 allowance feature for New York bred fillies and mares at Aqueduct.

The 4-year-old trained by Linda Rice and ridden by Cornelio Velasquez angled four-wide in the stretch and stormed home for her third win in the last four starts.

The time was 1:44.62 for the 1 mile, 70 yards. Daisy Cutter paid $10.60, $4.40 and $3.20.

Literata returned $3.90 and $3.10 as the 9-5 favorite. Jc's Shooting Star paid $3.60 to show.
