ARCADIA, Calif. (AP) Generosidade rallied late to win the $200,000 San Luis Rey Stakes for older horses by 1 1/2 lengths in a huge upset Sunday at Santa Anita.

Ridden by Tiago Pereira, Generosidade ran 1 1/2 miles on turf in 2:28.80 and paid $144.80, $45.60 and $7.60 at 71-1 odds.

Chile-bred Quick Casablanca returned $11 and $5.60, while Energia Fribby was another neck back in third and paid $12 to show.

Bred in Uruguay, Generosidade was making her third U.S. start in the Grade 2 race for trainer Paulo Lobo, who like Pereira is Brazilian.

''I was so excited because this is my second graded win in North America,'' Pereira said. ''We sat behind, we let the pace go and the last three-eighths, I was able to get outside and get up to win it.''

The victory, worth $120,000, increased Generosidade's career earnings to $206,894, with five wins in 16 starts.

In the $75,000 Pasadena Stakes for 3-year-olds, Dressed in Hermes rallied three-wide turning for home and overhauled pacesetter It's The Ice with a sixteenth of a mile to go to win by three-quarters of a length.

Ridden by Hall of Famer Mike Smith, Dressed in Hermes ran a mile on turf in 1:37.71 and paid $2.80, $2.10 and $2.10 as the 2-5 favorite.

It's The Ice returned $2.80 and $2.10. Sorryaboutnothing was another three-quarters of a length back in third and paid $4 to show.

The victory, worth $47,700, increased Dressed in Hermes' career earnings to $219,300, with three wins in seven starts. Trained by Janet Armstrong, all three of the gelding's victories have been on turf.

''He gives you confidence the whole time,'' Smith said. ''He's a big horse so I was able to make my way out from the rail and down the backstretch. I let him stretch his legs out a little and it worked out great.''
