Royal Posse wins Aqueduct's Mr. Sinatra Stakes

NEW YORK (AP) Royal Posse powered to a 3 3/4-length victory Saturday in the $88,200 Mr. Sinatra Stakes at muddy Aqueduct.

The Mr. Sinatra was the richest of the 10 races in the Big A's Claiming Crown for horses that have run in a claiming race since Jan. 1, 2015.

Royal Posse, the even-money favorite, got his seventh win in 28 starts. The 5-year-old gelding was claimed by trainer Rudy Rodriguez for $20,000 at Belmont Park last May. He is 4 for 8 since the barn change.

Rodriguez and Ortiz also teamed to win the $58,800 More To Tell Stakes with Mr Palmer.

Ortiz and his brother Jose combined to win seven races on the card.

Royal Posse paid $4, $2.60 and $2.10. Indycott got second, returning $4 and $2.40. Dontbetwithbruno paid $2.10 to show.
