NEW YORK (AP) Welcoming dominated the $72,000 allowance feature for 3-year-old fillies in her season debut on Wednesday at Aqueduct.
Last seen here in November running fifth as the 4-5 favorite in the Tempted Stakes, Welcoming wintered with trainer Christophe Clement at Payson Park in Florida.
The gray filly was fresh and eager in her New York return, drawing away to a 5 1/4-length victory.
Irad Ortiz Jr. was aboard as Welcoming ran the mile in 1:39.28 for her second win in five starts.
The 6-5 favorite paid $4.70, $3.10 and $2.50.
The entry of Amour's Charm and Annie Rocks finished 2-3, respectively. They returned $3.90 and $4.20.
