Havanna Belle wins turf feature at Santa Anita

ARCADIA, Calif. (AP) Havanna Belle took the lead approaching the quarter pole and went on to a 6 1/2-length victory in the $65,000 feature Thursday at Santa Anita.

Ridden by Flavien Prat, Havanna Belle ran a mile on turf in 1:35.88 and paid $3.60, $2.80 and $2.10 as the 4-5 favorite in a field of six older fillies and mares.

Fasnacloich returned $4.60 and $3, while Hijra was another nose back in third and paid $2.20 to show.

The victory, worth $39,000, increased Havanna Belle's career earnings to $151,158, with four wins in 16 starts. It was the 4-year-old Ireland-bred filly's third U.S. win.
