Makena wins feature by 3¼ lengths at Santa Anita

ARCADIA, Calif. (AP) Makena took command at the quarter pole and won the $58,000 feature by 3¼ lengths Friday at Santa Anita.

Ridden by Drayden Van Dyke, Makena ran a mile in 1:35.98 and paid $5.60, $3 and $2.40 as the 9-5 second choice.

Savannah Sky returned $3.60 and $3, while Girl Downstairs was an additional 2¼ lengths back in third and paid $5 to show.

The victory, worth $34,800, increased Makena's career earnings to $102,120, with two wins in six starts.
