LOS ALAMITOS, Calif. (AP) Classico won the $36,260 feature by 2 1/2 lengths in his first start in over two months Thursday at Los Alamitos.

Ridden by Rafael Bejarano, Classico ran six furlongs in 1:09.54 and paid $5.40 and $3 as the 17-10 second choice.

Loyalist returned $5.20, while Weirdhaircut Seth was another head back in third. There was no show wagering because of the four-horse field. Secret Room, the 3-2 favorite, finished last.

The victory, worth $22,200, increased Classico's career earnings to $66,585, with three wins in seven starts. Classico is trained by Doug O'Neill, who had another winner on the card.

Two horses were euthanized after a spill in the last race for older horses.

Macho Sox broke down while leading approaching the stretch and Fiddler Blue was unable to avoid the incident. Fernando Perex, aboard Macho Sox, and Brandon Boulanger, aboard Fiddler Blue, were examined at the track's first aid station and returned to the jockeys' room.
