LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) Nyquist has stepped onto the track at Churchill Downs for the first time to begin his final preparations for the Kentucky Derby.

The undefeated colt jogged once around the sloppy oval under exercise rider Jonny Garcia on Sunday. They were accompanied by a pony.

Trainer Doug O'Neill says Nyquist will jog again on Monday. The colt arrived at Churchill Downs on Saturday from Keeneland, where he had been stabled since winning the Florida Derby.

Nyquist is expected to the favorite for Saturday's 142nd running of the Kentucky Derby.
