NEW YORK (AP) Gift Box made a sharp comeback to win the $77,000 allowance feature for 3-year-olds on Thursday at Belmont Park.

The gray colt trained by Chad Brown rallied four-wide around the turn to beat Realm by 4 1/2 lengths.

It was his first race since running third to Mohaymen, one of the top contenders in the Kentucky Derby, in the Remsen Stakes at Aqueduct in November.

''It was very impressive, the way he came from behind,'' winning rider Javier Castellano said.

Gift Box, who could be a major player in the upcoming summer stakes, paid $5.80, $3.70 and $2.50 as the 9/5 second choice.

Realm returned $11.20 and $4.90.

Gettysburg, scratched from the Sir Barton Stakes on the Preakness undercard last Saturday, finished third after briefly taking the lead at the top of the stretch. He paid $2.50 to show as the 6-5 favorite.

The time was 1:41.42 for the 1 1/16 miles.
