ARCADIA, Calif. (AP) Poshsky held off even-money favorite Alert Bay by a neck to win the $100,000 Crystal Water Stakes Saturday at Santa Anita.

Ridden by Fernando Perez, Poshsky ran a mile on turf in 1:35.77 and paid $44, $9.60 and $4 at 21-1 odds, the longest in the field of six older California-bred or sired horses.

Trained by Peter Miller, Poshsky was last but went four-wide in the far turn and ran down the favorite. Poshsky snapped a six-race skid dating to Nov. 29.

The victory, worth $60,000, increased Poshsky's career earnings to $412,890, with seven wins in 29 starts.

Alert Bay returned $3 and $2.40, while Ashleyluvssugar was another three-quarters of a length back in third and paid $2.80 to show as the 2-1 second choice.
