Dalmore wins Affirmed Stakes for Desormeaux brothers

ARCADIA, Calif. (AP) Dalmore won the $100,000 Affirmed Stakes by a half-length Saturday at Santa Anita for the Desormeaux brothers.

Ridden by Kent Desormeaux and trained by his brother Keith, Dalmore ran 1 1/16 miles in 1:40.84 and paid $9.20, $2.60 and $2.10.

Danzing Candy returned $2.10 and $2.10 as the 1-5 favorite in his first start since losing the Kentucky Derby by 20 lengths on May 7 and his first under new trainer Bob Baffert.

Prince Arabia was another 8 1/2 lengths back in third and paid $2.40 to show.

The victory, worth $60,000, increased Dalmore's career earnings to $187,302, with three wins in 11 starts.
