King Kressa, Runaway Lute win stakes at Belmont

NEW YORK (AP) King Kressa and Runaway Lute won stakes Saturday at Belmont Park.

King Kressa edged 4/5 favorite Force the Pass by a nose in the $150,000 Forbidden Apple on the turf.

It was the 10th win in 32 starts for the 7-year-old gelding trained by David Donk and ridden by Irad Ortiz, Jr.

The time was 1:33.06 for mile. King Kressa paid $6.70 to win.

Runaway Lute romped by 8 3/4 lengths over Ethan Hunt in the $125,000 Rockville Center for New York bred 2-year-olds.

The colt is now 2 for 2 for the team of jockey Javier Castellano and trainer Gary Contessa. He paid $4.90 to win.

The time was 1:10.82 for the six furlongs.
