Coniah takes Belmont Park feature as the 3-5 choice

NEW YORK (AP) Coniah raced to a 1 1/2-length victory Thursday in the $80,000 allowance feature for fillies and mares at rainy Belmont Park.

The 3-year-old trained by Kiaran McLaughlin set a pressured pace before pulling clear for her third victory in 12 starts. Irad Ortiz. Jr. was aboard for his third victory of the afternoon.

The time was 1:15.83 for 6 1/2 furlongs on the fast track.

Coniah paid $3.30, $2.30 and $2.10. Know It All Anna rallied from last in the five-horse field to finish second, returning $3.50 and $2.40. Big World paid $2.50 to show.
