Daring Duchess delivers front-running win in Belmont feature

NEW YORK (AP) Daring Duchess was the front-running winner Wednesday of the $80,000 allowance feature for fillies and mares on the turf at Belmont Park.

The 4-year-old ridden by John Velazquez and trained by Mike Maker raced to her third win in 13 starts. The time was 2:00.71 for 1 1/4 miles on the firm course.

Daring Duchess paid $13.80, $7.50 and $4.50. Sky Painter rallied from seventh to get second, 1 1/4 lengths behind the winner. She returned $10.20 and $5.90. Evidently paid $4 to show.
