A Red Tie Day wins Lure Stakes by half-length at Santa Anita

ARCADIA, Calif. (AP) A Red Tie Day won the $70,000 Lure Stakes by a half-length Sunday at Santa Anita.

Ridden by Norberto Arroyo Jr., A Red Tie Day ran a mile on turf in 1:34.82 and paid $11.60, $6.40 and $3.20 at 9-2 odds.

Perfectly Majestic returned $6.40 and $3, while even-money favorite Twentytwentyvision was another neck back in third and paid $2.20 to show.

Trained by Richard Baltas, A Red Tie Day earned his fifth win - all on turf - in 18 career starts. The 6-year-old gelding increased his career earnings to $251,308 with first-place money of $43,440.
