Highway Star shines in NY Stallion Stakes at Aqueduct

NEW YORK (AP) Highway Star rallied four wide Sunday to capture the $125,000 New York Stallion Stakes for fillies and mares at Aqueduct.

The 3-year-old chestnut trained by Ubillo Rodrigo improved to 4-0-1 in six starts with the 3 1/4-length victory over Frosty Margarita.

Angel Arroyo was aboard for the seven furlongs in 1:24.18.

Highway Star, the 7-2 second choice, paid $9.20, $5.10 and $2.90.

Frosty Margarita returned $7.50 and $4 and Super Surprise paid $2.10 to show as the 4-5 favorite.
