Coroner: Jockey died after falling from his bathroom window

LONDON (AP) A coroner has ruled that English Derby-winning jockey Walter Swinburn died as a result of an accident after falling about 12 feet from his bathroom window into a courtyard at his home in central London.

The 55-year-old Swinburn died in December after suffering a head injury.

An inquest at Westminster Coroner's Court on Thursday heard that Swinburn suffered from epilepsy but the coroner, Dr. Shirley Radcliffe, said it was not possible to determine ''whether or not he had an epileptic fit which caused him to fall.''

Swinburn rode Shergar to victory in the 1981 Derby at the age of 19. His other winners in the Epsom race were Shahrastani (1986) and Lammtarra (1995).
