Kentucky Derby 2017 odds: Betting lines, favorites to win
If the early odds are any indication, the 2017 Kentucky Derby promises to be a good one.
Oddsmakers haven’t settled on a single favorite for the 143rd running of the Derby, which will be held Saturday in the early evening.
Last year’s winner, Nyquist, took off as a 2–1 favorite. Nyquist went on to finish third in the Preakness Stakes and was pulled out of the Belmont because of an illness.
Nyquist won the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile as a two-year-old in 2015 and the winner of last year’s Juvenile—Classic Empire—is among the favorites for this year's race.
