Paramount, Jerry Bruckheimer to Co-Produce Sports Illustrated True Crime TV Series
Paramount Network and Time Inc. Productions are teaming up for a new one-hour television series based on Sports Illustrated's "True Crime" franchise. The show will be co-produced by Jerry Bruckheimer TV and delves into the complicated truths and realities of athletes involved in criminal activity and misdeeds.
Every episode of the show will be accompanied by a piece on SI.com and the print magazine.
The "True Crime" franchise has taken an in-depth look at Randall Woodfield as the I-5 Killer, the killing of former New Orleans Saints defensive lineman Will Smith, UFC fighter Lee Murray's big bank heist and more. All "True Crime" stories can be found here.
Time Inc. Productions will also launch a late-night, comedy panel/talk show called "Entertainment Weekly: The Bullseye." The show is based off the magazine's popular column "The Bullseye" and will feature a celebrity host and panelists debating the week's biggest pop culture stories.
The parntership with Paramount Network will launch on January 18, 2018. The shows are currently in pilot production.
