Mike Greenberg Shares Heartfelt Message After Recent Procedure

Longtime ESPN personality Mike Greenberg shared a heartfelt message to his supporters on social media Friday as he remains away from the company in order to continue his recovery from a recent heart procedure.

Greenberg, the host of ESPN’s weekday morning show Get Up, posted the message on Twitter a day after his wife Stacy announced he underwent a cardiac ablation on Monday. In the tweet, Greenberg joked about his eventual return to the network before expressing the gratitude both he and Stacy have for those who wished him well.

“As the week ends, I want to say that @StacyGSG and I are so grateful for all the well wishes you’ve sent us,” Greenberg wrote. “I’m sure I’ll say something ridiculous that makes you yell at me again soon enough, but please know I will never, ever forget the kindness we’ve been shown this week.”

As of Friday, it remains unknown when Greenberg, who also hosts ESPN’s NBA Countdown pregame show, will return to the air.

Greenberg’s tweet marks the beloved host’s first social media post addressing his procedure, though it wasn’t his first correspondence on Twitter this week. The New York native and noted Knicks fan took time on Tuesday to share a tribute mourning the loss of Knicks legend Willis Reed, who died Tuesday at the age of 80.
