CNN Announces New Show Starring Charles Barkley, Gayle King

After months of speculation, Charles Barkley is officially joining the world of cable news. During TNT’s NBA pregame show on Saturday, CBS Mornings anchor Gayle King was brought out as a guest to announce that she and Barkley will host a weekly CNN talk show called King Charles, beginning in the fall.
The show will air on Wednesday nights, according to the on-air announcement.
In an internal announcement shared by Ben Mullin of The New York Times, CNN CEO Chris Licht announced that the show is set to run into 2024.
“This show will be an exciting new way we are delivering culturally relevant programming and unique perspectives to our audience, from two incredibly dynamic personalities,” he said.
Barkley was named to 11 All-Star teams during a decorated 16-season NBA career with the 76ers, Suns and Rockets. He was inducted into the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame in 2006.
He’s been a member of the NBA on TNT cast since 2000.
