Reggie Bush Likely Out at Fox, Could Be Replaced by Mark Ingram II, per Report

Reggie Bush is likely on his way out the door at Fox Sports due to a contract dispute with the network, according to the New York Post.

Bush had become a popular college football analyst on Fox Sports’ Big Noon Kickoff during college football season. However, the disagreement between the network and the former Saints first-round pick dates back to the 2022 offseason.

Bush agreed to a one-year contract with the network to remain on the show before the ’22 campaign. But prior to Bush securing that deal, Fox was reportedly interested in poaching ESPN’s Desmond Howard and Robert Griffin III but never made formal offers to them, per the Post.

At the conclusion of last season, Fox attempted to re-sign Bush under similar terms, but he was not satisfied. Now, the 38-year-old will reportedly be replaced by another former Saints running back, Mark Ingram II, as the network is “closing in on a deal” to sign the 2010 Heisman Trophy winner, according to the Post.

Currently, Ingram is still active in the NFL. In ’22, he played in 10 games and registered 233 yards on 62 carries and a touchdown with the Saints. If Ingram takes the analyst role, it would require the 33-year-old to retire and trade in his cleats for a spot on the television set on Saturdays with host Rob Stone and analysts Urban Meyer, Brady Quinn and Matt Leinart.

However, because Ingram’s deal with Fox is not official yet, he could still elect to play in the NFL next season. In 12 seasons, Ingram has played for the Saints, Ravens and Texans while rushing for a total of 8,111 yards and 65 touchdowns in his career.
