There's a good chance A's starting pitcher Jesse Chavez may be thanking his lucky stars right about now.

In the top of the fourth inning, Seattle Mariners right fielder Michael Saunders came up to the plate with a runner on second base and two men out. On a 2-1 pitch from Chavez he smacked a scary line drive right back at the A's hurler.

Chavez immediately fell to the ground, but thankfully it was with the ball securely in his glove for the third out of the inning. No harm done on an incredible defensive play, but a scary situation nonetheless.
