Blue Jays first baseman Adam Lind expected to return in 2-3 weeks after foot fracture
The prognosis for Blue Jays slugger Adam Lind is better than first expected, as the first baseman, who fractured the first metatarsal in his right foot in June, will be out for 2-3 weeks rather than the 6-8 that was initially believed, the team announced on Friday.

Lind, who'll be in a walking boot for the next five-to-seven days, was examined by Dr. Robert Anderson in Charlotte on Friday afternoon.
The 30-year-old injured the foot when he fouled a ball off his foot in Baltimore on June 14 but it was initially diagnosed as a bone bruise. Lind missed four games and pinch-hit in another three before returning to the starting lineup.
"When he first had the CAT scan, they didn't see anything, and then he started feeling pretty good," manager John Gibbons said. "[He] was productive for us in some limited roles, and then it started bothering him again."
Lind said he got an MRI on the advice of his mother, according to MLB.com.
He is batting .320/.389/.489 with four homers and 27 RBIs in 61 games this season and has 144 career home runs in nine seasons with Toronto.
The Blue Jays (49-45) had lost six of seven and nine of 12 before Friday's win in Tampa Bay.
