Reds' Joey Votto, Brandon Phillips still reportedly five weeks from return

Reds first baseman Joey Votto and second baseman Brandon Phillips are still approximately five weeks from returning to the lineup, said general manager Walt Jocketty, according to a tweet Sunday from Jim Bowden of ESPN.
The 30-year-old Votto, a four-time All-Star, has been out since early July when he went on the 15-day disabled list because of a thigh injury that was expected to limit him the rest of the season. Phillips, meanwhile, went to the 15-day disabled list days later with a torn ligament in his left thumb. The 33-year-old three-time All-Star was initially ruled out eight to 12 weeks. He was batting .272/.308/.392 in 86 games this season.
