The Yankees are in talks with the Padres to acquire starter Ian Kennedy for two prospects, according to ESPN's Jim Bowden on Thursday.

Mariners make another illogical move by trading for Kendrys Morales

San Diego has already traded Chase Headley to the Yankees and closer Huston Street to the Angels but reportedly wants significant value in any deal for Kennedy. New York is reportedly offering top prospects Eric Jagielo and Ian Clarkin.

Kennedy, a first-round pick of the Yankees in 2006, pitched the first three seasons of his career in the Bronx. He is 8-9 with a 3.66 ERA in 22 starts this season and 61-49 with a 3.96 ERA in eight seasons for the Yankees, Diamondbacks and Padres.
