Red Sox second baseman Dustin Pedroia exited early vs. the Rays on Saturday night with an apparent head injury.

Red Sox second baseman Dustin Pedroia exited early vs. the Rays on Saturday night with an apparent head injury.
The 31-year-old appeared in pain after sliding and taking a forearm to the head from second baseman Logan Forsythe. He remained face down near the base and was examined by members of the team's medical staff before walking off the field.
The Red Sox were fifth in the AL East heading into the loss vs. the Rays on Saturday. Boston travels to New York on Tuesday to kick off a series vs. the Yankees. Pedroia's status is unclear.
