Yankees will wear patch honoring Derek Jeter through end of season

For the rest of the season, the Yankees will wear a patch honoring Derek Jeter on their caps and left jersey sleeves, the team announced Tuesday.

JAFFE: Derek Jeter's farewell, MVP races highlight September's storylines
The Yankees will start wearing the patch on Sept. 7. Jeter's farewell ceremony will be before that afternoon's game.
After the ceremony, the Yankees have one more homestand, from Sept. 18-25 against the Blue Jays and Orioles.
The Yankees are currently four games behind the Tigers for the second American League Wild Card spot.
