Tigers' Anibal Sanchez could throw off mound on Monday
Tigers pitcher Anibal Sanchez, who hasn't started since Aug. 8 because of a strained pectoral muscle, could begin throwing off the mound on Monday assuming all goes well with another long toss session scheduled for Sunday, according to a tweet Saturday from Jason Beck of MLB.com.

Any potential return for Sanchez would be welcome news for the Tigers, who entered Saturday's game against the Indians only a half game up on the Royals for first place in the AL Central. Detroit won 5-4.
On the season, the 30-year-old, who became last year's AL ERA champion, has pitched a 3.46 ERA in 125 innings.
Sanchez will throw another long-tossing session Sunday. Mound session Monday if things go well. Just throwing off mound, no hitters yet.
