St. Louis Cardinals pay tribute to Oscar Taveras at Busch Stadium

The St. Louis Cardinals paid tribute on Tuesday to outfielder Oscar Taveras, who was killed along with his girlfriend, Edilia Arvelo, in a car crash Sunday night.
The Cardinals lit the stadium lights in right field in an empty Busch Stadium in honor of Taveras.

A moment of silence was held for Taveras and Arvelo before Game 6 of the World Series between the San Francisco Giants and Kansas City Royals at Kauffman Stadium Tuesday night.

Royals starting pitcher Yordano Ventura also paid tribute to Taveras by writing "RIP O.T. #18" on his cap.

Taveras, 22, was traveling to his hometown of Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic, at the time of the accident. He was driving when his sports car collided with a tree, according to a police report.
