Chuck Knoblauch calls out Yankees' plan to retire Andy Pettitte's number

The New York Yankeesannounced Monday that the team will retire three numbers during the 2015 season, including pitcher Andy Pettitte.

The pitcher's former teammate, Chuck Knoblauch, tweeted about the honor, and called out the Yankees for retiring the pitcher's number, despite his past.

In December 2007, Pettitte and Knoblauch were listed on former Sen. George Mitchell's report on players who had used performance-enhancing drugs. Both players later admitted to using Human Growth Hormone (HGH).

Someone pointed out on Twitter that Pettitte is liked more than Knoblauch by Yankees fans, and Knoblauch seemed to agree with that statement.

Pettitte retired after the 2013 season, after a 18-year MLB career. He finished with a record of 256-153. Petitte spent all but three seasons with the Yankees, going 219-127.

Knoblauch played 12 seasons for the Minnesota Twins, Yankees, and Kansas City Royals. He was a four-time All-Star and was named AL Rookie of the Year in 1991 with Minnesota.

In July, Knoblauch was accused of assaulting his wife. After the incident, the Twinscanceled plans to induct him into the team's Hall of Fame.
