Pittsburgh Pirates outfielder Andrew McCutchen left the ninth inning of Friday's game with what the club called 'left knee discomfort.'
McCutchen removed himself from Pittsburgh's game against the Brewers after leading off the inning with a fly ball to right field. He battled lower body soreness during spring training, but Pirates manager Clint Hurdle dismissed any connection between the injuries.
Hurdle on McCutchen: “He took himself out after he ran down the line after the at bat. He felt a little something.”— Travis Sawchik (@Travis_Sawchik) April 11, 2015
The severity of McCutchen's injury is still unknown.
