Giancarlo Stanton became the Miami Marlins' all-time home run leader on Thursday night with the 155th homer of his career, passing Dan Uggla in the franchise's record books.

Giancarlo Stanton became the Miami Marlins' all-time home run leader on Thursday night with his first home run of the season.

Stanton's home run off of New York Mets pitcher Dillon Gee in the first inning was the 155th of his career, passing Dan Uggla for sole place atop the franchise's list.

Stanton is in his sixth season with the Marlins. Miami signed the 24-year-old to a record 13-year, $325 million deal in the off-season after a 2014 in which he hit .288 with 37 home runs, 105 RBIs and a .555 slugging percentage.

Entering Thursday, Stanton was hitting .200 with seven RBIs and three runs in nine games.
