Detroit Tigers infielder Miguel Cabrera hit his 400th career home run on Saturday.

Cabrera's milestone home run was a solo shot in the top of the first inning against the Cardinals. It also proved to be the difference against St. Louis, as the Tigers recorded a 4-3 win in extra innings at Busch Stadium.

Cabrera is 31 years old. Six of the eight players who hit 600 home runs in their careers reached home run No. 400 at an older age than Cabrera, including the top four home run hitters of all time.

In 36 games this season, Cabrera is batting .333 with 10 home runs and 29 RBIs.

Of Cabrera's 400 home runs, 262 have come over eight seasons in Detroit, while the remaining 138 were hit while Cabrera was a member of the Marlins from 2003-07.

The Tigers are 23-14, good for second place in the AL Central.
