Both benches in Miami cleared Wendesday night after Cubs right fielder Junior Lake exchanged words with Marlins catcher J.T. Realmuto after crossing home plate.

Lake, who belted a two-run home run in the sixth inning to cut Miami's lead to 6–2, appeared to look toward the Marlins dugout and put his finger to his lips as he rounded third base.

When he crossed home plate, Lake had a heated exchange with Realmuto. Lake was held back by his teammate Anthony Rizzo, but not before both benches cleared.

Lake, in his third season with the Cubs, had not had a home run this season before this at bat. Lake is hitting .250 this season with one home run and four RBI.
