Minnesota Twins designated hitter Miguel Sano hit his first career home run on Tuesday against the Baltimore Orioles

The Twins called up Sano from Double A last Thursday. He then picked up his first career hit in that night's game against the Kansas City Royals

The 22-year-old was ranked the ninth-best minor league prospect by MLB.com and the thirteenth-best prospect by Baseball America when the season began.

The home run came in the bottom of the first inning, with Trevor Plouffe on second. Sano launched the homer to leftcenter off of Orioles pitcher Kevin Gausman, giving the Twins a 3–0 lead.

Sano entered Tuesday's game hitting .412 (7-for-17) with two RBIs through his first five MLB games. He had 15 home runs and 48 RBIs in 66 games at Double A Chattanooga when Minnesota called him up.
