Pittsburgh Pirates outfielder Andrew McCutchen hit a solo home run to lead off the bottom of the sixth inning at Tuesday's MLB All-Star Game.

The home run, which came off Tampa Bay Rays pitcher Chris Archer, cut the American League's lead to 3–2.

Los Angeles Angels outfielder Mike Troutled off the game with a home run that gave the AL a 1–0 lead. The National League later tied things up on an RBI single by Jhonny Peralta, but back-to-back singles by Prince Fielder and Lorenzo Cain in the top of the fifth gave the AL a 3–1 lead and a two-run seventh inning made it 5–2.

McCutchen becomes the fifth Pirate to homer in an All-Star Game, joining Ralph Kiner, Willie Stargell, Roberto Clemente and Dave Parker.

Trout and McCutchen were their respective league's leadoff hitter in the game. A.J. Pollock later replaced McCutchen in centerfield.
