Chicago Cubs first baseman Anthony Rizzo went up on the tarp at Wrigley Field to catch a foul ball during Wednedsay’s game against the Milwaukee Brewers.

Rizzo’s sensational catch came in the sixth inning with the Cubs leading 2–1. With one out and Brewers catcher Jonathan Lucroy on first after a single, Brewers rightfielder Ryan Braun hit a pop fly toward the stands on the first-base side.

Rizzo pursued the ball, carefully hopped on top of the tarp and leaned over the wall to make the catch. His momentum carried him into the stands, where he remained on his feet to make a throw back toward the infield before falling over. Several fans patted him on the back in celebration.

The play was initially ruled a foul ball before umpires conferred and overturned the call, crediting Rizzo for the catch.

Lucroy advanced to second on the play but after a Cubs pitching change, the Brewers did not score as first baseman Adam Lind flied out to center.

The Cubs won 3–2 on a 10th-inning, walk-off home run by catcher Miguel Montero.
