The New York Yankees have activated lefthanded starter CC Sabathia off the disabled list, the team announced on Tuesday.

Sabathia, who has been dealing with right knee inflammation, is slated to pitch Wednesday night's series finale against the Baltimore Orioles and will wear a protective knee brace. The addition of Sabathia comes just one day after the team lost starter Nathan Eovaldi for the rest of the regular season with an elbow injury.

In his 24 starts on the year, Sabathia is 4–9 with a 5.27 ERA. In his two starts against the Orioles in 2015, Sabathia has allowed eight runs in 12 innings.

The Yankees sit 1 1/2 games behind the Toronto Blue Jays in the American League East with a 77–60 record.
