The Los Angeles Dodgers are headed to the postseason after clinching their third straight NL West division title with an 8–0 victory over the Giants.

The Dodgers lost to the Cardinals in the NLDS last season three games to one, and were eliminated in the NLCS after the 2013 season.

On Tuesday, Clayton Kershaw made another strong case for NL Cy Young. He tossed a complete-game, one-hit shutout on 104 pitches and struck out 13. A.J. Ellis and pinch-hitter Andre Ethier each drove in two runs to lead the way for Los Angeles.

The Dodgers’ opponent in the NLDS will be the New York Mets, who clinched the NL East title on Saturday.

The St. Louis Cardinals, Pittsburgh Pirates and Chicago Cubs have also already clinched playoff berths in the National League.
