The Houston Astros advanced to the divisional round of the playoffs with a 3–0 win over the New York Yankees on Tuesday.

Astros starter Dallas Keuchel pitched six scoreless innings, striking out seven batters in his first career postseason start. Yankees starter Masahiro Tanaka allowed two runs—both off solo homers—in five innings.

Trailing by three in the ninth inning, the Yankees were retired on three quick outs. New York only hit three singles the entire game.

Houston will face the Kansas City Royals, the No. 1 team in the American League, in the divisional round beginning Thursday. The Pittsburgh Pirates will host their division rival the Chicago Cubs in the NL wild-card game Wednesday night.
