New York Yankees outfielder Brett Gardner will miss about two weeks of action as he continues to recover from a bone bruise in his left wrist, manager Joe Girardi told reporters on Wednesday.

Gardner is not expected to take any swings before the Yankees' off-day on March 14. Gardner's wrist injury was re-aggravated in the Yankees' season-ending loss to the Houston Astros in the American League Wild Card game.

“Everything today went well, so I'm sure [Thursday] will, too,” Gardner said. “Just continue to progress. [I've] got to start somewhere.”

Gardner finished last season hitting .259 with 16 home runs and 66 RBIs in 151 games.

The Yankees will open the 2016 season on April 4 against the Astros.
