MLB players will no longer be able to use personalized bat decals, reports Alex Pavlovic of CSN Bay Area.
A few players across the league placed decals on the bottom side of the handle of their bat, such as Matt Duffy of the San Francisco Giants. According to Pavlovic, MLB told teams at the league’s winter meetings the decals cannot be used anymore.
It’s unclear if MLB made the decision due to corporate sponsors. Companies often put their names on the barrel of the bat.
