MLB: No discipline for Dodgers in laser flap at Citi Field

NEW YORK (AP) The Los Angeles Dodgers aren't going to face any discipline from Major League Baseball over the laser flap at Citi Field last weekend.

MLB didn't find a violation during the Dodgers' weekend series against the New York Mets. Other media outlets reported the decision earlier Thursday.

''I have no other comment on it,'' Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said. ''We'll abide by whatever the Major League Baseball rules specify.''

The Mets wanted MLB to look into how the Dodgers were using a laser range-finder to set defensive positioning in the outfield before a game, and whether they were marking the field for shifts.

MLB has told teams that using electronic devices is OK before games, but not during play. MLB also has informed clubs that they can't leave anything on the field.
